Whether it’s happiness or sadness, joy or pain, all your emotions begin with your thoughts. So if you want to change how you feel about something, start by changing how you think about it. When I first came to the United States, my suitcase with all of my money and belongings was stolen at John F. Kennedy airport in New York City. I was devastated at first, but then I decided to change my perspective. It wasn’t that my money was stolen, but that I had made a donation to the poor of New York City. With this new outlook, I could move forward with hope and determination. In this video clip of a lecture I gave, I talk about how different thoughts produce different emotions and, therefore, different outcomes. To create what you really want, find the perspective that will support it.
